LunarDAO is an anonymity-first collective. We aim for sovereignty and are a part of a growing community of lunarpunks who understands that what we want in terms of privacy and autonomy, we need to create ourselves. Lunarpunks are visionaries as well as builders. Network privacy is hard to achieve and there is continous development to strengthen this piece of our infrastructure.
VPN
The VPN solutions that exist today route traffic through proxies. Any adversary that surveils the traffic can view the size of data packets entering and leaving the VPN service. With internet traffic surveillance, an adversary can see who, when, and how often you communicate with someone.
Nym Network
Nym mixnet divides data packages into the exact same size, inserts dummy packages and uses time delays so there can be no correlation between the data entering and exiting the mixnet. We believe that Nym provides the strongest network privacy solution. It is a decentralized ecosystem with open participation from the community. Anyone can set up a mixnode or an exit gateway.
Our Steps
As Stewards, we want to lead by example and contribute to the expansion of the dark forest. Therefore we have set up 15 Nym Exit Gateways. An exit gateway is the last node in the mixnet before the data reaches its destination and it is a critical part of infrastructure.
The LunarDAO community's mission statement includes building and supporting privacy infrastructure. Our exit gateways stand as one more resource in the privacy/anonymity tool belt.

We invite LunarDAO community and lunarpunks everywhere to join our mission and set up their own exit gateways. We can list any community exit gateway on our landing pages and list it on the wiki.

Lunarpunk vanguards DarkFi built a fully anonymous and p2p instance of IRC chat called ircd. Run ircd over the mixnet using LunarDAO gateways for max anonymity. Follow this guide to set it up.
